PARB research project No. 22-531: Isolation and Characterization of Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR)/Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) in Cattle and Buffalo with Mastitis in Punjab My research project allowed me to create antibiotic panels that would reduce costs for livestock farmers. The selected person will be able to work on state-of-the-art research addressing one of the major issues faced by the livestock sector in Punjab.

Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be required to assist in various research activities related to the project. The key responsibilities include:
- Isolation, culturing, and identification of multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria from mastitis-affected cattle and buffalo.
- Molecular characterization of bacterial isolates using advanced laboratory techniques.
- Performing antimicrobial sensitivity testing to identify effective antibiotic combinations.
- Data collection, record keeping, and report writing.
- Assisting in the preparation of research publications and presentations.
- Any other duties assigned by the Project Manager related to the research project.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions to apply for this position:
- Qualification: M.Phil or M.Sc (Hons) in Veterinary Microbiology from an HEC-recognized university/institution.
- Candidates must not have 3rd division in their academic career.
- Prior experience in the following will be preferred:
- Bacterial isolation
- Bacterial culturing & identification
- Molecular characterization of bacterial isolates
- Antimicrobial sensitivity testing
